I started volunteering at the club and interclub level when our son showed signs of commitment and passion about snowboarding back in 2008. From the first AOS race my wife Sue and I volunteered at in 2010, to my being elected to the board in 2012, I have tried to ensure that our athletes have the best opportunities to develop and succeed. That is really the only thing that matters to me in my role. It is a wonderful experience to watch all these kids grow up and succeed, whether competing on the world stage or moving on to the ‘real world’. These experiences have taught me many things. The most important being: it only takes a few people to make a positive difference.
